Type J pads are finned pads to suit Shimano 2-piston brakes. The cooling fins help to disperse the heat so you get less fade under heavy, sustained braking. The same pad shape is available in Type G which is the non-finned version of this pad.

The pads are available in both Sintered – Metallic and Resin – Organic options.

Sintered/Metallic:

Pros:

• Less fade at higher temperatures.
• Perform better in wet conditions.
• longer lasting.
• Better for heavier riders and heavy, sustained braking.

Cons

• Less Initial bite
• Noisier

Resin/Organic:

Pros

• Quiet.
• Better initial bite.

Cons

• Tend to wear out faster
• Don’t perform as well in in wet conditions.
