Lowrider bosses are open on both ends, unthreaded, and intended to pass all the way through fork blades. They allow an M5 bolt to pass through and be secured by a nut on the other side. This providesgreater strength than threading into a water bottle boss brazed into one side of the fork blade. Steel.
