The ideal shaft clamp for Cane Creek coil shocks, compatible with both legacy 8mm and upgraded 9.5mm damper shafts.
This dual-size clamp securely holds either 8mm or 9.5mm Cane Creek coil damper shafts in your bench vise during service. Its not designed for air shocks, for those, usehorizontal wide shaft clamps that clamp farther out on the shaft, past the eyelet.
Even if you know the year of your shock, you may not know the shaft diameter. Many older Cane Creek DB Coil shocks have been upgraded to 9.5mm shafts during rebuilds. This isn’t always documented. To avoid surprises, this clamp includes both sizes to cover:
Reminder: If the shaft doesn’t sit perfectly in the groove, stop and remeasure. Improper clamping causes shaft slippage or surface damage.
